The End of Times

by JAN VINCENT

The end of times are coming...

When you see riots in the streets, churchs being burnt, images of holy men and women being attacked, repent!

When you see earthquakes and the skies go awry, please repent or it will be too late.

When you see the darkness coming from the North, please repent, but that may be already too late.

the rite - evil exists

by JAN VINCENT

Yesterday I went to see the film The Rite. The film is an eye opener.. According to the movie the Vatican has received reports of up to 500,000 people that are possessed by one or more enemies of our souls - yes, the devil. It explains how exorcisms work, and the POV is of a young seminarist who skeptical of the all whole thing. It presents a paradox. The devil is all pride and wants to be revered. But in order to be revered, he has to reveal himself, to reveal he exists. However, that is his best strategy: to convince the incredulous, the skeptics that he does not exist, that is a fabrication of feeble, gullible minds (like mine?). Just paraphrasing the movie: "It can only be defeated when you believe in it."

divine mercy

BY JAN VINCENT

But I don't want to talk about too much about the enemies of our soul. I want to talk about Divine Mercy. I am reading the book "Diary - Divine Mercy in My Soul" by St. Faustina Kowalska, a Polish nun who lived in the first part of the 20th century and was canonized by Pope John Paul II. I asked permission from the owners of the copyright of the book to post quotes of the book in my blog and fortunately they blessed my efforts to show you how much God loves us and how much He wants to be loved back by us.

the attributes of god

BY JAN VINCENT

According to St. Faustina: God has three major attributes (numbers before the letter D are the paragraph numbers of St. Faustina's Diary):

  • He is Holy - "His holiness is so great that all the Powers and Virtues tremble before Him. The pure spirits veil their faces and lose themselves in unending adoration, and with one single word they express the highest form of adoration".
  • He is Just - "His justice is so great and penetrating that it reaches deep into the heart of things, and all things stand before Him in naked truth, and nothing can [resist] Him."
  • He is Loving and Merciful - "It unites the creature with the Creator. This immense love and abyss of mercy are made known in the Incarnation of the Word and in the Redemption [of the Humanity] (D180).

All of these attributes, Jesus let her know that the most important attribute is Love and Mercy. Jesus told her time and time again that He wants to be known how merciful He is.

My dear, dear god of mercy

BY JAN VINCENT

Jesus told St. Faustina: "My beloved daughter, write down these words, that today My Heart has rested in this convent [the Cracow house]. Tell the world about My mercy and My love.

The flames of mercy are burning me. I desire to pour them out upon human souls. Oh, what pain they cause Me when they do not want to accept them!

My daughter, do whatever is within your power to spread devotion to My mercy. I will make up for what you lack. Tell aching mankind to snuggle close to My merciful Heart, and I will fill it with peace.

Tell [all people], My daughter, that I am Love and Mercy itself. When a soul approaches Me with trust, I fill it with such an abundance of graces that it cannot contain them within itself, but radiates them to other souls." (D1074)

I cried my heart out when I read this...
